The Big Local: Prepping for Jesse James Festival

While the main events for the Jesse James Festival hit later in September, the energy starts now.

The Tradition: For over 50 years, this festival has defined Kearney. Now is the time to start gathering your teams for mud volleyball or registering for the Festival 5K/10K (happening September 12th).

Worth the Drive: SantaCaliGon Days

If you’re up for a short drive to Independence, SantaCaliGon Days (Sept 4th–7th) is a Northland favorite. With over 500 vendors and world-class live music, it’s a celebration of the historic trails that put our region on the map. It’s the ultimate "last hurrah" for summer festival food—get the funnel cake, you’ve earned it.

Your Home’s "Transition" Weekend

Labor Day is also the unofficial deadline for summer home projects. If you have an extra day off, here is how to give your "Legacy" home a fall refresh:
