Honoring Our Heroes: Memorial Weekend in the Northland

Today, we pause. 

While Memorial Day is often seen as the unofficial kickoff to summer, here at Legacy Home Collective, we believe it's a day to reflect on the true meaning of the word Legacy. Everything we enjoy today - our homes, our vibrant neighborhoods, and our freedom to build a future - was bought at a price by the brave men and women who gave everything in service to our country. 

As we spend time with our families today, we want to highlight how our community is honoring this day and how you can join in. 

A Community of Honor

In the Northland, we are fortunate to be so close to the National WWI Museum and Memorial. If you haven't made the short drive down this weekend, today is a powerful time to visit. Standing on the lawn looking over the Kansas City skyline serves as a poignant reminder of the history that protects our present. 

Closer to home, we see the flags lining the streets of Kearney and the quiet dignity of our local cemeteries in Liberty. It's a reminder that we live in a place that remembers its roots. 

Creating Traditions at Home

For many of us, today is also about gathering. Whether you're hosting a small family BBQ or enjoying a quiet afternoon in the backyard, these are the moments that make a house a "home."

• The "Legacy" BBQ: If you're grilling out today, we hope your backyard is filled with laughter. 

• A Moment of Silence: At 3:00pm local time, we invite you to join us in the National Moment of Remembrance - one minute of silence to honor those we have lost. 

We Are Grateful for You

Our "Collective" is built on the idea of community. We are incredibly grateful to serve the families of the Northland, and we never take for granted the trust you place in us to help you find your place in this great region.
